guy, girl and the brick of a phone Monday, December 26
an exciting christmas
i got to stop my phone from slipping out of my pockets. for the 2nd time in 6 months, i dropped it in a car and it was a taxi this time! the following ensued: 1. tried to stop the taxi but ran across to the wrong road because the !@$#% driver signalled right while waiting at a junction, but turned left! 2. ran to hall and up every floor looking for someone who's awake at 4am on a public holiday so i could borrow a phone to call my friend in the taxi. 3. managed to borrow a phone from a chinese girl who was understandably terrified because it's 4am on a public holiday and no one was around to help should this panting, suspicious-looking guy attack her. 4. realised i didnt have the friend's number* so i called a common friend to ask for it. 5. knocked on the door again and returned the kind girl her phone. she must have been really scared to have closed the door after lending me her phone. what if i had run away with it?? anyway great, my friend's still in the taxi! my brick of a phone is saved! like many said, maybe it's time to get a new phone. * abovementioned friend also said all the trouble was just desserts because i didnt ask for her number earlier! 911 chicken wings
went to dxo (gasp! where the pap hold their all-white parties!) with er, L & M tonight. (hmm. L&M sounds like a brand of cigs..) their gal pal was in this queen of queens pageant over there. we queued for 15min to get in. then we stayed for like ½ hr before we left the place. i dont know about the rest, but the pageants i've been to have so far been rather boring. i liked that they got walls to sponsor cornetto minis tonight though, haha. i bumped into tze chyn too. still that clean boyish bespectacled studious look. haha. if i remember correctly, he did gardening in sec sch. beneath all that lies a top commando! lacking in something
exams ended 2 days ago with a politics paper i couldnt finish in time. SIGH. that aside, it's been 1 x mahjong session! 2 x movies! seems like the trend in film nowadays is to leave something out. i thought the exorcism of emily rose was missing some details. but it's worth a weekday ticket. ![]() a history of violence, perhaps being one of them artistic shows, left even more of the storyline left untold, but nothing you cant guess yourself. maybe singaporeans need time to get used to appreciating such films.. if it rains, runners shall stop running, but i will continue. - william tan
because we were too lazy to walk all the way to the flag-off point, allan and i (and 2 other unidentified runners) "made history" by being the first runners to complete the run from bukit timah campus to kent ridge. haha. not that anyone noticed. we were waiting at the main road intending to join the runners as they came out, but since there wasnt any sign of them ½ hour after the original flag-off timing, we started off ourselves. we eventually found out the run was pushed back an hour because of the shitty storm this morning. the administration could have been better handled lar. and i still dont understand why they'd rather focus on the 5km internal run at kent ridge, which isnt very symbolic lo. ![]() dr william tan who's wheelchair-bound is attempting to complete 100km around the stadium as part of the school centennial. his spirit isnt bound by anything, definitely. i wonder if he's accomplished the feat. it's been about 6 hours since he started already. |
